About ISO 50001
ISO 50001 sets requirements for an energy management system: measuring energy use and improving energy performance.
The current edition is ISO 50001:2018, amended in 2024 with a requirement to consider climate change.
A certificate is valid for three years. Surveillance audits take place in the first and second year; before the certificate expires the company goes through a recertification audit.
